Meet Bart Provost, Bodily Injuries Claims Handler at AG Providis

Bart Provost is a Bodily Injury Claims Handler at AG Providis, one of our clients here at Evertys. He has been working with AG Providis as a freelance consultant since March 2023. Here, you can read all about his experiences with Evertys and his new assignment.

"I have been working as a personal injury claims handler since 2000. At first, I worked for various insurance companies for many years. For the past few years, I have been working as a freelance consultant. 

“Evertys approached me because AG Providis was urgently looking for a capable employee to reduce their workload and deliver quality work at the same time. They saw my experience, both from the insurance company's perspective and that of the liable party, which they found valuable. I didn't have to ask many questions and could start working right away."

Abundant development opportunities

AG Providis was not the only one happy with Bart’s arrival. He saw many opportunities within this project himself. 

"I work entirely in French. Dutch is my native language, so it's an extra challenge. In addition, the way insurance companies pay out damages in Wallonia is different from that in Flanders. The standard method of calculation used in Wallonia is rarely applied in Flanders, only in severe cases of damage. 

“Moreover, I now have to negotiate more than when handling cases in Flanders, and the files are more complicated. Even after 23 years of experience in this field, I still have ample opportunities to develop myself further."

And that is precisely what Bart has in mind. 

"In the future, I would like to become an inspector. It requires a lot of knowledge. This job contributes to broadening and deepening my knowledge. As an inspector, the human aspect also comes into play. You need to be empathetic and have the ability to empathise. Also, attending evening school is necessary for that. 

“However, as I still have two daughters who attend school, it is not an option at the moment. Nevertheless, this job offers me the opportunity to continue developing myself, so that in the future, I can hopefully work as an inspector."

Bart did not choose a position with Evertys without reason. 

"Evertys is not yet well-known in the insurance world. When I got to know them, I discovered how ambitious the company is. The ambition to grow and improve appealed to me immediately. It was one of the reasons why I started this project."

Freedom, flexibility and trust

As a consultant at AG Providis, Bart finds plenty of challenges. 

"The work and the language require me to be focused all day. Mentally, I'm exhausted at the end of the day, but it's also rewarding to clear the backlog [for] the customer as quickly and efficiently as possible. I relax by running or cycling, which provides a healthy balance."

"My team consists of about 25 employees. We have a team day on Mondays and are all at the office. The rest of the time, I work from home. AG Providis gives me a lot of freedom, flexibility, and trust, which I greatly appreciate."
