Every month we put the spotlight on one of our consultants to get to know them better. This month, we would like you to meet Hella Van De Voorde, HR expert.
Hella's latest project is as Payroll Officer at Sisu Group. Her responsibilities include the onboarding and offboarding of employees, preparing all contracts, hospital & group insurance, and more!

When did you know you wanted to pursue your career in HR?

In my first job, I had to undertake HR-related tasks such as managing employee benefits and other administrative tasks and I really enjoyed it. Later on, I started developing an interest in social legislation for workers and I applied at the Ephec to follow evening courses.

If you could give one important piece of advice to others in your function, what would it be?

To effectively communicate with colleagues and managers to accurately update files of new employees. It is also important to be able to adapt yourself to different situations and to ideally speak with employees in their native language.

Tell us something about an interesting hobby or passion.

I have several hobbies in my life: hiking, doing pole dance, going out with friends, travelling and many more.

Consultant

How did you start to get passionate about this?

I started doing pole dance in May 2019. I was a bit self-conscious at first but I have been doing it for almost 4 years now, and I love it! It gives me a great boost of energy and allows me to get out of my comfort zone.

As for hiking, when I was a little girl, my parents and I hiked a lot and I’ve never stopped since.

What was your favourite event so far?

I attended a workshop and found it very interesting. It's great to take the time to understand what consultants aspire to do and what their needs are.

What’s the best thing about being a Project Consultant?

Being a consultant is about seeing other company cultures and values. Some companies prefer working with digital tools, while others have more traditional ways of functioning and getting to see different ways of working is what really drives me.

On top of that, I find it very interesting to share knowledge, give advice and listen to the client’s needs.

Why should other professionals consider becoming members of our community?

There is a nice atmosphere and the managers are very flexible and caring. Nowadays, people generally listen passively to their co-workers, but at Evertys, people are always ready to actively listen to your needs and answer your questions, which I find very valuable.

How would you describe Evertys in a few words?

Young, flexible, motivated and empathetic.

How does Evertys' community add value to your experience?

The support, the good dynamics and the motivation are what make working at Evertys so pleasant. We all have each other’s backs, and when I need information, people will always gladly answer. That is why I believe Evertys is a lasting and innovative company.
